PROJECT INTRODUCTION

The Sacred Mosque, in the western city of Makkah (Mecca) in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the largest and most respected place of worship for Muslims around the world.  ESSURA were commissioned by Saudia Arabia’s largest contractor to support a 40 billion riyals (US$10.6 billion) expansion project.

CHALLENGES

Around 20,000 construction workers were engaged to deliver this project and their management and accountability was critical to the success of the project as was ensuring security of the 400,000m2 site.

SOLUTION

ESSURA was awarded the contract to design, procure, install and commission a turnkey integrated solution to assist with construction site management and access/egress control. We designed and delivered an integrated solution comprising turnstiles, electronic access control, CCTV, wireless network, time and attendance database and data communications.

BENEFITS

ESSURA deployed a wholly Muslim team to design and deliver a solution tailored to the project’s specific needs. The enhanced security and improved accountability contributed to greater operational efficiency through reducing bottlenecks at entry/exit points as well as mitigating potential safety hazards all whilst complying with local and international standards and regulations.
