PROJECT INTRODUCTION

ESSURA were appointed by MQDC to undertake Strategic Security Consultancy, Security Master Planning and Security Design for the prestigious THB90 billion (USD2.8bn) Forestias Mixed Use Development project in Bangkok.  Located within the city limits of Bangkok it is an innovative, inter-generational community and mixed-use development within a natural forested environment.

CHALLENGES

Aspiring to be an inclusive oasis of wellbeing in an inner- city environment it was crucial that security be considered from the outset.  Any solution proposed had to not only address the specific threats we identified but do so in a way that was sustainable and sympathetic to such a nature-rich setting.

SOLUTION

Building on the Smart City Safe City concept our security proposals prioritised and maximised the opportunities for enhanced security provided by the natural environment.  Where necessary this was then supplemented with advanced technology solutions including video analytics, vehicle recognition and access control.  Taking advantage of the proposed integrated ICT site wide infrastructure allowed us to connect these technologies under a central Command and Control function, housed in a purpose-built control room specified by us.

Our integrated solution increased the interaction between citizens and security and safety agencies to enable integrated response, the provision of timely and accurate information and built awareness of threats and preventative actions available to all.  These combine to enhance the feeling of safety, security and wellbeing and contribute to the development’s concept of ‘Imagine Happiness’.
