Baiji Oil Refinery Integrated Security Solutions

ESSURA (as Olive Group) was contracted for the provision of a fully integrated Core Security Management System that will bring together all sub-systems in a single control and monitoring front end. The solution offers a perimeter detection solution complemented by visual verification capability through strategically deployed general surveillance cameras and long range thermal surveillance cameras which will offer the same operational functionality during night and dust storm scenarios.
Baiji Oil Refinery is one of the top three most productive oil refineries in Iraq. It is of key strategic national importance producing more than 60 percent of the country’s gasoline, feeding the nearby power generation plant and several downstream chemical industries and employing more than 10,000 Iraqis. The refinery was built in the 1982’s and has a capacity of 310,000 barrels a day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, however in recent years the plant has been operating at less than full capacity due to the prevalent threat environment as well as power cuts and other operational constraints.
The critical significance of the refinery has prompted the North Refineries Company (NRC) to commission Olive Group.
